Phillip E. Mork Phillip E. Mork, age 88, of Iola, died Friday, February 7, 2014 at Iola Living Assistance. Phillip was born in Iola, Wisconsin on December 20, 1925, the son of the late Teman and Laura (Nelson) Mork. He married Jean (Erickson) Ekquist on June 2, 1966 at the Scandinavia Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2006. Phillip had served in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong dairy farmer on the family farm in the town of Iola. All of his life, Phillip was a member of Hitterdahl Lutheran Church. He enjoyed helping out at he church whether it be doing the trimming in the cemetery, the church bell ringing, doing some custodian work or helping at the pancake supper. He always enjoyed going to Crystal Cafe for coffee and finding some one who could converse with him in Norweigan. Phillip was a loving, caring gentle man to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Phillip is survived by: a daughter, Kathy (Lee) Hemingson of Waupaca; a brother, Clarence Mork of Waupaca and three grandchildren: Rylan Mork, Dylan and Jenna Hemingson. Phillip is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: a son, Kenneth Mork; five sisters, Ella Nielsen, Olga Mork, Alma Flater, Loretta Nueske, and June Olsen; and two brothers, Ludvig and Ole Mork. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 @ 11:30 AM at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church, Town of Iola, Wisconsin, with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 4-6 PM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Register Book and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.voiefuneralhome.com
