Donald E. Nelson

Mr. Donald E. Nelson, age 77, of Iola, died Saturday, July 6th, 2013 at his residence. Donald was born in Iola on February 8, 1936, the son of the late Oscar and Ragna (Barikmo) Nelson. Don served in the United States Marines from 1954-1958. He married Dorothy Brown in Oshkosh, on October 31, 1959. He worked for Superior Electric and Waupaca Foundry, where he worked in construction maintenance and research and design, retiring in 1999. Don enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, gardening, working on tractors and spending time at his sawmill. His pride and joy was his 1968 Ford military jeep, USMC, which he restored. He is survived by his Wife: Dorothy Nelson Sons: Doug (Teresa) Nelson Roger (Jane Fischer) Nelson Daughter: Lynn Nelson 6-Grandchildren and 3-Great Grandchildren and Brother: Everette (Donnaleen) Nelson. He was preceded in death by a Sister: Evelyn Nelson and Grandson: Dylan Nelson. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10th, at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating.
