Kenneth H. Wall, age 86, of Iola, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Iola Living Assistance Ken was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 14, 1927, the son of the late Fred and Martina (Olsen) Wall. He married Margaret Mueller on September 25, 1948 in Bensenville, IL. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Gunner's Mate Third Class aboard the USS Corbesier in the South Pacific. He was a foreman and later a project engineer at Thompson Steel in Franklin Park, IL. Ken was a self taught man who enjoyed helping people and do anything he could to make things for someone in his workshop. Ken was very active in his church as well as the Iola Lions Club, American Legion Post 14, and board member for many years for the Iola Car Show. Ken was proud to be one of the regular coffee guys at Crystal's Cafe in Iola. He was an avid reader of both history and current events. Ken never finished high school due to his military service in WWII and was very proud of being awarded a diploma in 2000, by Iola-Scandinavia High School. He is survived by his Wife: Margaret Wall, Children: Penny (Roger) Mealiff, Fred (Deborah) Wall, Wayne (Renee) Wall, and Barb (Mark) Romin; a Sister: Evelyn (Roy) Ray; Grandchildren: Scott (Lynn) Mealiff, Timothy (Nikki) Mealiff, Lauren (Mike) Wingender, Kelly Wall, Rebecca (Chris) Sottile, Lindsay (Alan Succari) Wall Succari, Jeffrey Wall, Emily Wall ,Eric (Gaby Traxler-Romin) Romin and Hillary (Tyler) Wiggs Ken is further survived by five Great Grandchildren and many Dear Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Brothers: Leonard, Earl, Clarence, Norman, Jerome and a Sister: Violet. Funeral Services will be held at Scandinavia Lutheran Church, Scandinavia, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 9th, with Reverend Mark E. Sabin and Reverend Roger Mealiff officiating. Visitation will be held Monday 4-8 PM. at Voie Funeral Home in Iola and Tuesday 10 AM until the time of service at Scandinavia Lutheran Church.
