Robert M. Klein, Sr.

Robert M. Klein, Sr., age 91, of Iola died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Iola Living Assistance. Robert was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 24, 1921, the son of the late Matthew and Eleanor (Knoblauch) Klein. Bob married Marcella "Sally" Erickson on September 20, 1947 at the Alban Lutheran Church She preceded him in death on January 20, 2011. Bob served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. in the Pacific Theater. He repaired damaged planes and also was a gunner. He had been a salesman for Machinery & Supplies in Appleton. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge, F&M # 123 Waupaca and the Shriners in Milwaukee. He enjoyed his lake home at Lake Tomahawk, travelling with his wife, Sally and hunting with his nephews. He is survived by: daughters: Barbara (Daniel) Fritz of Ogdensburg, and Jennifer (Peter) Colwell of Brookfield; a son: Robert (Kathleen) Klein, Jr. of Hartland. Bob is also survived by six grandchildren; Michael Anderson, Ashley (Patrick) Marten, Daniel Fritz, Peter, Eric, and Avery Colwell. He is further survived by great grandson Mason Michael Anderson. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katie. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 19, 2013 @ 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established to Bob's Great Grandson, Mason Anderson, who has an eye disorder.
