Kenneth Barikmo

Kenneth Orin Jerome Barikmo, age 82, of Iola, died Tuesday, June 11th, 2013 at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point with his family at his side. Ken was born in Waupaca, Wisconsin on August 6, 1930, the son of the late Otto and Alice (Boe) Barikmo. Ken graduated from Rosholt High School 1949. Ken married Wanetta Griffey his wife of 62 years on Feb 10, 1951 in Milwaukee at Hope Lutheran Church. He entered the United States Army on May 1, 1951 and was stationed in Japan and Korea and was discharged on May 11, 1953. Ken worked for AC Delco in Oak Creek for over 39 years. He enjoyed wood chip carving, fishing, woodworking, cooking, playing Santa and spending time talking Norwegian with his family and friends. He is survived by his Wife: Wanetta L. Barikmo of Iola; Sons: Larry (Lori) Barikmo of Slinger. Michael (Sharon) Barikmo of Cedarburg. John (Tammera) Barikmo of Winneconne. Kurt (Kori) Barikmo of Muskego. Eight Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren. One Sister: Nathlyn Voegtline of Milwaukee. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Kim Renee Barikmo. Funeral Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Rosholt, 253 Main Street South at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 17th, with Reverend Michael Peuse officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 11:00 AM till the time of the service. Interment will be in the Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
