Joseph "Joe" W. Keller, age 83, of Iola, was born into eternal life Monday, April 22, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 27, 1929, the son of the late Joseph F. and Leona (Blumenberg) Scherr. Joseph served in the United States Army at Fort Bragg, NC serving as an MP. He worked as a foreman for the Milwaukee Railroad. Joseph was a Boy Scout Master and was very proud to mentor numerous Eagle Scouts. After retirement, Joseph established Hillside game farm in the Town of Iola, WI raising exotic game birds. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and liked to socialize with friends. Joseph was a member of the Iola American Legion and enjoyed volunteering at the Iola Car Show. Joseph is survived by one son; Joseph K. (Laine Philippa) Keller of Jackson, WI, daughter; Beth (William) Chancellor of Milwaukee, WI, son-in-law; Bela Szecsy of Menomonee Falls, WI, one granddaughter; Sara (Romell) Greer of Milwaukee, WI, four great-grandchildren; Isaac, India, Xavier and Elijah and three sisters; Patricia (Donald) Steinbrecher of Broookfield, Nancy (Howard) May of Knoxville, TN and Dorothy Petranech of Milwaukee. Joseph was a father and grandfather figure to many, giving special recognition to Brian and Debbie. He is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his Daughter: Dawn Szecsy. A Memorial Service will be held at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27th, with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
