Allen N. Larson, 89, of Iola, died Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at Iola Living Assistance, after 7 years of fighting ALS. Allen was born in the Township of Harrison on January 22, 1922, the son of the late Michael and Ethel (Rice) Larson. Allen married Margaret Beyersdorf on November 29, 1980 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Big Falls, WI. As a boy, Allen attended the Lashua school. He had worked at Four Wheel Drive, Tri-State Homes in Lac du Flambeau, and had been a semi driver. Allen owned and operated Larson Implement in Rosholt. He also worked for Koch Asphalt where he was a lab technician. Allen was on the church council, a deacon, and communion assistant at St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He also was a member of the Norseman Snowmobile Club. He was excellent mechanic and handy man. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. Brother: Linford (Dorothy) Larson Rosholt Sisters-in-law: Joan Larson Rosholt Olean Larson Panama City, FL. 5 Grandchildren: Scott (Carmen), Todd, Chad (Brandy), Beau (Toni) Ellsworth, and Andrew (Anna) Knaup. Allen is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, severeal nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Edgar, Rex, Orvis, and Gordon Larson; and 2 Nephews: Tom and Perry Larson Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 3. 2011 @ 11:00 AM at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Big Falls, Wisconsin with the Rev. Daniel Somers officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-8 PM at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola, and again Monday from 10 AM until the time of service at the church.
