Harriet M. Leach

Harriet M. Leach Harriet (Wrolstad) Leach, 89, of Iola, went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 19, 2011. Harriet was born in New Hope, WI. on December 4, 1921 to the late William and Edna (Peterson) Wrolstad. Harriet attended business college in Stevens Point. She married Riley James Leach on October 29, 1942 in the Town of New Hope and had one son, Daniel James Leach. Harriet and Riley resided in Beaver Dam, WI., where she was secretary to the president at Wayland Academy for 25 years until moving to their tree farm in the Amherst Junction area. Harriet was then secretary of Alumni Development & News Publications at UW-Stevens Point until she retired in 1984. In 1988, Harriet and Riley moved to Iola. She enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors, and being an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola. She took great pride in her successful careers and family. Harriet truly treasured her time in the company of her family and friends. Harriet is survived by a daughter-in-law, Patricia Leach, Marion: three granddaughters, Heather (Chad) Wuske, Caroline, Heidi Jo (Dave) Krause, Wausau, and Hailey (Ryan) Halmstad, Catawba: two sisters, Eleanor (Morgan) Huglen, Iola and Doris Teel, Texarkana, TX.; nine great grandsons, Justin, Braylen, and Tristan Wuske, Dominic and Gage Krause,Brady, Evan, Nash, and Jake Halmstad. She was further survived by several nieces and nephews. Preceding Harriet in death were her beloved husband, Riley, and son, Daniel: and three brothers, Carlyle, Donald and Richard Wrolstad. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, September 24, 2011 @ 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola, with the Rev. Dennis Olson officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Scandinavia, Wisconsin.
