Donald N. Mork

Donald N. Mork, age 78 of Scandinavia, passed away Sunday, September 4th, 2011, surrounded by his family at his residence. Donald was born in Iola, Wisconsin on April 18, 1933, the son of the late Ole and Josephine (Nassen) Mork. Donald married Charlotte Krueger on Sept 3, 1955. Don worked for the Waupaca County Highway Dept-Iola shop for over 32 years. He owned a Hobby Farm in the Town of Scandinavia for 47 years. Don enjoyed spending time outdoors including fishing and camping with family and friends in Minocqua. He spent time traveling to Alaska, Europe, Niagara Falls and Yellowstone. He was an avid Packer, Brewer, Badger and NASCAR Fan. Don served in the United States Army from 1955-1958 as an Ammunition Specialist. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Charlotte Mork of Scandinavia, Daughters Cheryl Portell of Osseo; Christine (Greg) Ambrosius of Iola; Son David (Mary) Mork of Ogdensburg; Grandchildren Jamie (Marty) Folcyzk of Elk Mound. Jennifer (Charl) Vandernest of Merrill. Jodi (Riley) Risberg of Eau Claire. David Mork of Waupaca, William Mork of Ogdensburg, Matthew (Brittany) Mork of Marinette; Emily, Danielle and Tayler Ambrosius of Iola. Great Grandchildren: Bodie & Marcus, Charlotte, Jadon & Caylynn; Candice, Addison & Olivia and Natalie. Donald is also survived by Aunt June (Earl) Olson of Iola; Uncles Phillip Mork of Iola and Clarence Mork of Waupaca, Roger (Betty) Nassen of Iola, Rose Johnson, Scandinavia along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents; brother: William Kenneth Mork, Son in Law; Donald Portell and several uncles and aunts. Memorial Service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 9th, with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Memorial Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11:30-1:00 PM. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Voie Funeral Home of Iola is assisting the family with arrangements.
