Geneva Olson

Geneva Olson, age 94, of Stevens Point, formerly of Iola, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Oakridge Senior Living, in Stevens Point. Geneva was born in Nelsonville, on September 2, 1916, the daughter of the late Carl and Inga (Engebretson) Doxrude. She married William J. Olson. on November 13, 1948 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1969. Geneva worked as a medical assistant at the Iola Clinic for 49 years and retired at age 70. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by: Son: William "Will" (Jane) Olson Stevens Point Grandsons: Jason (Karen) Olson Stevens Point David Olson Phoenix, AZ. Geneva was also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Evan, Hayden, Gage, and Dylan. She was preceded in death by 2 -brothers, Carl and Islo Doxrude, 1-sister, Eunice Johnson, and 4 half sisters Cora Shaw, Alice Rittenhouse, Olga Solvrud, and Grace Howen. Funeral Services will be held at Hitterdahl Lutheran Church, Iola, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2011, with Reverend Dale Wilson officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time service at the church. Burial will be in the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery.
