Mrs. Evelyn R. Wolding, 93, of Nelsonville, died Saturday, April 16th, 2011 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. Evelyn was born in Town of New Hope on August 12, 1917, the daughter of the late Albert and Francis (Helgeson) Henke. She married Herbert O. Wolding on June 25, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. They were married for over 76 years. Evelyn worked along with Herb in the early years of H.O. Wolding Trucking in Nelsonville. Evelyn's priority in life was family, caring for her husband, children, all of her grandchildren and great grandchilden. She was a faithful member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the altar guild. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, yard work and also skiing; having started her own ski group. She is survived by Husband: Herbert O. Wolding, Nelsonville; Sons: Richard Wolding, Nelsonville; Duane (Marge) Wolding, Scandinavia; Don (Cathi) Wolding, Nelsonville; Daughter: Cathy (Alan) Kirsling, Waupaca; Brother: Allen Henke, Amherst Jct; Sister: Helene Anderson, Whiting. Evelyn is further survived by six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Shane Wolding and her parents: Albert and Francis Henke. Funeral Service will be held at Nelsonville Lutheran Church, Nelsonville, Wisconsin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 20th, with Reverend Gretchen Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. at Nelsonville Lutheran Church and also on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery in the Township of New Hope, Portage County, Wisconsin In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be directed to the Nelsonville Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Bethany Home for the wonderful care given to Evelyn and the family. The family would also like to thank Pastors Dwight and Gretchen Anderson for their comfort and compassion, Ministry Home Care Hospice for all of their care given to Evelyn and family, and to the Amherst First Responders.
