Dorothy R. Wasrud

Dorothy R. Wasrud, 81, of Iola, died Monday, April 11th, 2011 at Iola Living Assistance. She was born in Monticello in Dane County on May 13, 1929, the daughter of the late Royal and Josephine (Moser) Wasrud, Sr. Dorothy graduated from Iola High School in 1946. She started working March 7, 1949 at Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative. She retired in 1991 after working as office manager and administrative assistant for 42 years. She had been active in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, including belonging to the Esther Circle, singing in the church choir, and serving as church secretary for many years. She donated more than 3 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. Dorothy volunteered for meals on wheels. She enjoyed gardening, travelling and her pets Tipper and Kitty. She was a very generous person. She is survived by: 4-Brothers Donald (Dawn) Wasrud, Iola; Royal (Eileen) Wasrud, Jr. Scandinavia; Robert (Margaret) Wasrud, Sr. Scandinavia; Keith (Christine) Wasrud, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral services will be held, Friday, April 15, 2011 @ 11:00 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Iola with Reverend Dennis Olson officiating. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Iola, Wisconsin. Memorials may be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dorothy's name. Voie Funeral Home of Iola was in charge of arrangements.
