David R. Rice

David R. Rice, 69, of Iola, died Sunday, April 3rd, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca, Wisconsin. Dave was born in Racine, WI on July 31, 1941, the son of the late Ernest and Eunice (Krohn) Rice. He married MaryAnn Bergen on October 20, 1962 at the Northland Lutheran Church. She survives. He started Rice Enterprises which included M.R. Ceramics and Rice Auto Body Shop. Dave was a member of the Army National Guard and the Army National Guard Reserves. He liked collecting guns, boating, fishing,farming, cutting wood, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed fabricating equipment. He was known as the project man. Along with MaryAnn they enjoyed rummaging for bargains. He had been a member of the Iola Vounteer Fire Dept and the Coast Guard Auxillary in Menasha. He is survived by : Wife: MaryAnn Iola Sons: Jeff (Sommer) Rice Iola Rob (Lynette) Rice Iola Grandchildren: Jensen, Holdyn, LaTia, Jacob, and Nevada He was preceded by an infant son, Ralph David and a sister, Jeanne Charles. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 @ 11:30 AM at Northland Lutheran Church, Town of Harrison, with Reverend Dan Somers officiating. Friends may call from Thursday 9:30 AM. until time of service at the church. Interment will be in the Northland Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given in David's name for an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for Northland Lutheran Church. Voie Funeral Home of Iola is in charge of arrangements.
